PUBG Devs Cooking Something up for Next Year
During a recent interview CEO of PUBG Corp’s parent company Krafton, Kim Chang-han claimed that an upcoming title set in the PUBG universe is planned for next year. While nothing has been confirmed about the title releasing next year, The Callisto Protocol is another title the studio is actively developing and it’s currently planned for a 2022 release. PUBG is available right now on Xbox One, PS4, PC, mobile, and through the extensive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate lineup.
“I think the more important thing is how the company can utilize the intellectual property of PUBG and how it can make that into an even bigger franchise,” said Kim Chang-han. “We will not stay as a one-hit-wonder.” When discussing the time before the release of PUBG, Kim Chang-han said, “That was the darkest time in my life… every fiber in my being was telling me to make this game.”
South Korea is apparently on track to raise as much as $10.9 billion through over 120 Initial Public Offering’s this year according to the brokerage firm KakaoBank Corp. Kim Chang-han has also confirmed that Krafton is working on an animated show that will be uploaded on streaming services and a web cartoon.
