Halo Infinite Is Still Coming to Xbox One
While rumors have been circulating about Halo Infinite being Xbox Series exclusive based on a LinkedIn profile, it looks like the next-gen Halo is going to be cross-generational after all. According to 343 Industries Community Manager John Junyszek, the rumors are simply untrue and he’s looking forward to enjoying the holidays without having to dispel untrue rumors. The rest of the mainline Halo series is available on Xbox One, PC, and through the extensive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate lineup.
When asked on Twitter if the Xbox One version of Halo Infinite had been canceled secretly, 343 Industries Community Manager John Junyszek simply stated, “nope. Please let me enjoy the holidays.” The simple and short statement was accompanied by a crazy emoji, suggesting that Junyszek is tired of the rumors this year and is just looking forward to seeing what 2021 brings. While Halo Infinite might benefit from being exclusive to the Xbox Series X, it looks like Microsoft is dedicated to keeping it multi-generational for Halo fans on both platforms to enjoy.
Phil Spencer has previously teased the power of Project xCloud being utilized on the Xbox One and Xbox Series S to stream next-gen experiences to the less powerful consoles. Since it was delayed by 343 Industries, tons of rumors about Halo Infinite have been circulating, but it’s no news that lots of the development has been outsourced to other teams like so many other AAA games. Halo Infinite is expected to launch later next year, though 343 Industries is keeping tight-lipped about the upcoming game since the gameplay reveal.
