Make Your Font Gigantic in the Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds Recent Patch Adds Font Scaling

Obsidian Entertainment has added font scaling and visibility, multi quest tracking and ultra wide support to The Outer Worlds in a recent patch. The font scaling will allow gamers with vision issues to make the on-screen text as big as they require. Multi quest tracking will make getting the quests done in each zone a little bit easier for fans of the RPG. The ultra wide support will primarily focus on loading screens and cinematics, while font visibility tweaked the colours of in-game text. The Outer Worlds is available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC now, with a Nintendo Switch port on the way soon.

The Outer Worlds

Patch 1.3 released last week to high acclaim, despite many of the changes featured in it being small tweaks. The ability to alter the text size is important, not only for people with vision issues, but for the upcoming Nintendo Switch port. The Switch port itself has been delayed due to the coronavirus but being able to adjust the in-game text will be important when playing on the go. The ultra wide support likely won’t impact that upcoming Virtuos Games Switch port but it’ll be a welcome change to gamers playing on PC and console.

The Outer Worlds’ gamers will be able to see inactive quests on the map and select them on the fly now with the release of patch 1.3. There are new Reticle HUD Setting Options with the recent patch, “Aiming Only” which will impact ADS and Scoped aiming. One of the key gameplay improvements implemented with patch 1.3 was an improved quality of items that drop when killing Manti-Queens in-game. The effects of encumbrance have also been tweaked when using the confidence perk.
