Ghost Recon Breakpoint Microtransactions Include Skill Points
The microtransactions in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint exceed cosmetic rewards as gamers can purchase skill points and better gear. Ubisoft has previously used a credits system in Ghost Recon Wildlands which could be purchased for real money and used in-game for rewards but Breakpoint gives gamers new ways to optimize their experience with money if they don’t feel like grinding out the game. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will release on October 4th for PC, Xbox One and PS4 and will also be available on Google Stadia when it releases.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint has a year one season pass at the cost of $40 which comes with new content including new missions and two new adventures among other things. This is an expected process for the game as Ubisoft will be releasing more content for the game as it progresses, as games as services do. Though Ubisoft takes things up a notch similarly to previous games when they offer skill points, offering 60 points in a bundle for $20.
Gamers can also purchase weapons, vehicles, weapon upgrades, bundles of crafting materials, vests, hoodies, beanies, gloves, backpacks and more necessary in-game advantages that will make combating the island of Aurora easier. This ability to buy as much as you need allows the wealthier gamers, aka whales, to immediately gear up and skill up faster than the other gamers who are grinding for gear, gathering intel to locate the best place to find specific guns. It is possible to get all of the microstransaction content in-game by playing but it’s less easily accessible as you’ll have to trudge through jungles and take over compounds to get some of your favorite guns.
Ghosts will also be able to buy boosters that will help them progress through the Battle Reward system which is similar to the Fortnite Battle Pass that other games are adopting these days such as Rocket League and PUBG. Does this microtransaction news tarnish your view of the Ghost Recon brand or are you still excited to roam the new world Ubisoft has created with Aurora?
