Bully 2 May Have Been Canned for Other Projects

Rockstar May Have Canned Bully 2 for RDR2

According to Rockstart insider Tez2 mentioned on the GTA forums, Bully 2 may have been canned by Rockstar to allocate the proper resources to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 6. Another Redditor has previously confirmed that Bully 2 was scrapped during development, but Tez2 assures Rockstar fans that it was canned in favor of bigger Rockstar IP’s. Red Dead Redemption 2 is available right now for Xbox One, PS4, Google Stadia, and PC.

“Development probably didn’t kick off until 2016 or 2017, but shortly after that, the pace slowed down due to RDR2 increased focus and Bully 2,” said Rockstar insider Tez2 on the official GTA forums. “The latter was canned in 2017, so I presume they did that to focus on GTAVI.” The sentiments were later echoed on Reddit, where a fan known as Yan2295 simply said, “yeah, he’s right.” We aren’t sure when Bully 2 was in development but judging from several rumors, it looks like it was being worked on by Rockstar in the past.

While Bully 2 development was apparently canceled in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA VI, it is entirely possible that Rockstar is holding onto the assets generated while it was still in development in order to work on things later. Previous rumors have suggested that Bully 2 was in development for over a year before Rockstar canceled it, suggesting the team had moved beyond the conceptual stage of development and were actively working to create the highly anticipated sequel. The original Bully released way back in 2006, garnering a cult following amongst Rockstar diehards since then.
