Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Now on Console

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Is Now on Xbox One and PS4

Exploration-based survival title Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is finally available on the Xbox One and PS4, ending its PC exclusivity. Console gamers will now be able to play as a group of apes who are evolving to homo sapiens over the course of millions of years. The console version of the game includes additional features such as tutorial pop ups that weren’t in the PC version and new objectives. Console gamers can now purchase Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey for $39.99.

The added features coming to console versions of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will help the experience as the lack of proper tutorials and confusing UI were two of the biggest issues with the PC version of the game. This title is one of the strangest and most complex games on the market so if you’re looking for an innovative and strange experience to play through the holidays, this is certainly one to consider. Alongside the improved tutorials and new objectives come new RPG, Generation and Evolution menus which will further add to streamlining the console experience compared to playing it on PC.

We’ve been aware that Panache Digital Games intended to port Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey to consoles eventually but didn’t expect significant changes to the formula with the new features being added. It’s quite a polarizing and confusing title that we didn’t think too highly of. Although it’s an attempt to simulate our evolution from apes to humans, there were a lot of UI and progression issues that hindered it from being the essential evolution experience.
