The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta period started on September 12th and ran until September 23rd and gamers on all platforms were able to try it in the end after PS4 getting the first shot. Over the two consecutive weekends of beta, millions of gamers from around the world flooded the latest Infinity Ward title which likely accomplished their mission of testing both the servers and the new crossplay feature. During the press release, Activision states the beta’s success was overwhelming and incredible. It’s likely the sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will reflect the successful beta as predicted by NPD analyst Mat Piscatella who projected the game to outperform all others in 2019. “From the beginning of development there has been extraordinary excitement for this game. We thank Call of Duty players and the Development teams led by Infinity Ward for making this a record-setting beta,” said executive Vice President and General Manager of Call of Duty, Activision, Byron Beede.

“We’re focused on delivering the best online experience possible and that includes bringing the community together with crossplay. We appreciate all of the players from around the world, who played and shared feedback,” said Creative Director and Co-Studio Head at Infinity Ward, Pattrick Kelly. “Your support is not only driving inspiration to the entire team, but also provides us with important data and feedback which helps us improve the experience for launch.”

It’s likely that with so many gamers sharing their experiences of the beta, Infinity Ward got all of the data they needed during this successful beta. Are you curious what we thought about the beta?
