There were a lot of announcements during the most recent Playstation State of Play, although nothing with as much gravitas as The Last of Us II. The presentation closed out with a brand new trailer and a concrete release date for Naughty Dog’s upcoming title. The game is coming out on February 21st, 2020.
You can check out the trailer below for some delicious story details. It looks like Ellie’s either on a quest for revenge or rescue, depending on how dead her girlfriend is when things kick off. Or, who knows? Maybe she’s venturing deep into enemy territory to murder a whole tribe of ass-hats for a completely different reason.
Other stand-out features of the trailer include Ellie pulling arrow shafts out of fresh wounds, savage battles with men and monsters, rides through wintery forests, and uhhhhhhh Joel??? It must be him, right? How many grizzled, greying father figures popping out of deep shadows could there even be in a Naughty Dog game? The Last of Us: Part II is coming to PS4 next February.
