Top Games Coming in August 2019
With the end of July 2019 comes August 2019 to round out the end of summer. While July saw the releases of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Dragon Quest Builders 2, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, August 2019 brings a more varied offering. As we slowly approach the holiday season of 2019, let us take a look at the top upcoming games of August 2019.
Oninaki – Aug 22 – PC, PS4, Switch
The latest game from Tokyo RPG Factory, Oninaki follows previous offerings I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear. Setting the game apart from the developer’s previous titles is its combat system, which now occurs in real-time. With a customizable character, an intriguing story, and a striking aesthetic, Tokyo RPG Factory looks to put everything together for perhaps its best title yet. From our preview, we noted that “what impressed [us] the most during the preview was the game’s interesting world.”
Rad – Aug 20 – PC, PS4, Switch, X1
Rad looks… for a lack of a better word, rad. Developed by Double Fine Productions, Rad is a rogue-like set in a “post-post-apocalyptic” universe in which you are thrust into the role of a teenager sent out to an ever-changing wasteland. The interesting hook of Rad, though, is that the radioactivity will constantly alter your form and abilities, turning you into a mutant every so often.
