4 – Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

*** FULL REVIEW ***

Some of the best music in a game this year coupled with hardcore, twin-stick action puts Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number on many gamer’s lists for favourite games this year. While not as loved as its predecessor, the sequel still boasts challenging gameplay, a smart story and wonderful 16-bit graphics.

3 – Until Dawn

For the record, Until Dawn is so much more than Hayden Panettiere and the mystery of the undroppable towel. It’s painful decisions, jump scares out the wazoo and an experience that no true horror fan should miss. SuperMassive games does a stellar job at bringing this interactive scarefest to life. Graphically, the game looks unbelievably good and could stand out as one of the biggest stunners of the year.

2 – Rocket League

*** FULL REVIEW ***

The beautiful game and rocket fueled race cars… never, ever would I have thought of that combination. Lucky for us, developer Psyonix did and the result is a fast paced team game that seemingly never gets old. Rocket League is fun, it’s addictive, it’s competitive, it’s quite literally everything you’d look for in a video game. Grab some friends and start your engines, this is gonna be fun. Luckily, Xbox One owners do join in on the fun in 2016 but for 2015, all PlayStation.

1 – Bloodborne

*** FULL REVIEW ***

Is this really a surprise? From Software takes a break from Dark Souls to deliver on all levels with its instant classic, Bloodborne. This action RPG takes players to Yharnam for an utterly punishing and equally beautiful/haunting experience. Not for the meek, this game takes patience and strategy but is the most rewarding game to play this year. You will be elated when victory comes your way. You’ll just have to wade through a sea of ‘You Died’ screens to get there.
