The Worst
Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair ***Click here for COG’s full review*** Wait, there are other Earth Defense Force games? Ouch, no thanks but hey if killing giant insects is your thing you have come to the right place. Earth Defense Force 4.1 isn’t pretending to be something it’s not but I don’t think its pretending to be a good game either. Its mind numbing and a game we didn’t find all that engaging. For its price of $49.99 it’s hard to recommend Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair to anyone. Red Game Without A Great Name ***Click here for COG’s full review*** It’s too bad this one was such a lemon as people loved the mobile version of the game. Yet as with most mobile ports, many of them fall flat on their face. Red Game Without A Great Name is no exception. It isn’t the worst game of the year but it failed to deliver any kind of experience worth playing. The art design is about the only redeeming quality otherwise you need to take a big ol’ pass on this one. Temple of Yog ***Click here for COG’s full review*** I guess you could say the name of the game is a gigantic red flag, right? But it’s not all bad with Temple of Yog as the graphics and music perfectly capture the 8-16-bit videogame era they’re reproducing. The music isn’t too bad either. The game has some great ideas, and can be very fun in short bursts, but it doesn’t have enough variation to sustain it as a rogue-like game. Sorry Yog fans, you game wraps up 2015 by making our worst games of the month list.
