Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 14 Fighters That Need To Be Included as DLC

5. Travis Touchdown – No More Heroes

If Travis doesn’t make it into Smash Bros. I would be completely dumbfounded. Not only is this wildly entertaining assassin from a franchise that started on the Wii and rose to cult status, but he both has a new game coming out exclusively to the Switch AND Suda51 has already commented on what he would want Travis’ Amiibo to look like! This is a guy who will slice you in two with his beam sword or suplex you across the stage. He’s wild, he’s stylish, and he is always a hoot to be around. If ever we truly needed someone in Smash, it’s Travis.

4. Diablo – Diablo series

During an interview earlier this year Blizzard made it perfectly clear that they would love to bring Diablo (the Character) into Smash Bros. The complete edition of Diablo 3 recently released on Switch leaving such an option very much wide open, although how you would shrink down and nerf such an incredibly powerful character might be a bit more of a challenge than Ridley posed. While it might seem a daunting task, I have a better suggestion for Blizzard to bring to the table…

Diablo 2

3. Jim Raynor – StarCraft 2

If any character from Blizzards camp were to come to Smash it ought to be Jim Raynor. He’s a fighter, resilient, human, a massively popular hero, and he has all number of potential attacks and costumes for the game. Raynor would fit in perfectly with Samus and Captain Falcon, although most likely play more similarly to one of the StarFox characters. With a handcannon at his side, experience with Spider Mines, and so much other futuristic technology, Raynor would be the kind of reveal that would blow people’s minds; Let’s not forget that in Korea StarCraft is a legitimate sport.

2. Sora – Kingdom Hearts

In my scouring of the internet I somehow rarely saw people suggest bringing Sora into Smash Bros. and that genuinely baffles me. Kingdom Hearts was present at FOUR different shows at E3 this year. It is one of the most highly anticipated games to end the iconic franchise and Sora suits the Smash Bros. MO to a T: friendly, accessible, recognizable, and capable. While he might be another sword character, Sora would be a day one purchase for almost every single person currently playing Smash Bros. This one feels like a no brainer.

Kingdom Hearts 3

1. Solaire of Astora – Dark Souls

Okay, yes, ANOTHER sword fighter, but hear me out! Dark Souls is an iconic series to the point any game difficult or requiring skill is referred to as ‘Souls-like’ Solaire of Astora is the single shining beacon of light in the Dark Souls universe and is truly one of the most iconic symbols of the franchise. Not only would having the most positive knight you would ever know be incredibly cool to appear in Smash (and his Final Smash could simply be a black screen saying ‘You Died’) but he ALREADY HAS AN AMIIBO. Using the Solaire amiibo in Dark Souls unlocks the iconic ‘Praise the Sun’ taunt, but beyond that it is relatively featureless. Why not bring that very fine piece of plastic over to Smash where we can really appreciate the majesty of Solaire?
