Being under the pressure of completing a massive project is enough to make anyone snap. How does the stress manifest? Well it’s different for everyone. Sometimes, for instance, you get trapped in your subconsciousness and must confront your fears. Today, publisher Acclaim and Swedish indie studio Elden Pixels are happy to announce the launch of their metroidvania, The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest. From the team behind Alwa’s Awakening, Alwa’s Legacy, and A Void Hope, comes a tale of anxiety, work, and facing your fears. A press release provides more details. Additionally, a launch trailer gives players a glimpse of what awaits them in game. 

The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest introduces players to Fletcher Howie Jr. Fletcher is a game developer in the final stages of a massive project. Yet, he isn’t doing so hot. On the verge of a mental breakdown, Fletcher heads to therapy. Yet, in the post-crunch therapy session he is trapped in his own mind. Now, it is up to players to get him out. In a comedic metroidvania, players will find new weapons, upgrades, and more as they battle Fletchers manifestations of fear.
