Escape from Tarkov’s Arena Mode Has No Launch Date Just Yet

Escape from Tarkov’s arena mode is going to be a “standalone game project.” Fans of the franchise have long been waiting for this feature and Developer Battlestate Games has just made an announcement regarding the project.

Escape from Tarkov Arena is a standalone game project,” devs confirmed on social media. “A session-based multiplayer first-person shooter for PC with all the known and beloved hardcore game mechanics of Escape from Tarkov.”

The gameplay of the spinoff will be pretty much similar to that of the original game. However, instead of high stakes looting and extraction, the game will focus on “gladiatorial” combat throughout the city of Tarkov.

Escape from Tarkov’s arena mode is not just going to be a death match game. According to devs, the game is going to include both PvP and PvE modes. It will also bring a progression system that has “weapon and gear unlocks” as well as an option for those who already own the game to play as their main profile characters.

Fans who already own the Edge of Darkness Pack that is worth $140 can have free access to all future DLC. New and existing owners of the expansion will get the new feature at no extra charge. However, devs want fans to know that if they own other editions of Escape from Tarkov, the arena mode is going to be a paid DLC.

Unfortunately, devs did not provide any further information about how much Escape from Tarkov’s arena mode is going to cost them either as a DLC or as a standalone game. They might not know for a while considering that there is no official launch for it just yet. However, closed beta testing for the new feature is due to start this fall.
