Directive 8020 Gets Cinematically Horrifying
Humanity is running out of time. Earth’s days are numbered and the hopes of everyone on it rest with a small vessel with a smaller crew deep in space. However, the ship is not in one piece. Crash landing on a strange world, the crew will discover they are far from alone. Today, Supermassive Games is happy to announce the launch of their sci-fi horror game, Directive 8020. A bold take on the genre, the game is aiming to take a new approach on the cinematic horror game. A press release provides more details on the game and what it brings to the horror scene. Additionally, a launch trailer gives gamers a glimpse of what is to come.Â

The Colony ship Cassiopeia has crash landed. Importantly, its crew has survived for the most part. However, the question remains for how long? Being hunted by an alien capable of mimicking its prey, this “The Thing”-esque story will push gamer’s wits to the limit. Who can you trust? Can you outsmart what’s hunting you? Interestingly, Directive 8020 evolves Supermassive’s The Dark Pictures formula. For instance, players can expect real-time threats, , survival gameplay and enhanced tools like Turning Points. Everyone in this game can die. Yet, at the same time, everyone can live. Every choice players make matters. But who can you even trust when the enemy is in plain sight. Additionally, players don’t have to go it alone. Recruit up to five players to join the mission in couch co-op movie night mode.
Of course, players can check out the new launch trailer to see that death comes in many forms.Â
Directive 8020 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
