Indie developer MONTE GALLO and publisher MicroProse Software have officially launched Better Than Dead in Early Access on Steam, bringing a gritty, bodycam-style FPS experience to players today. Better Than Dead delivers a tightly focused, high-intensity shooter inspired by classic Hong Kong action cinema. Players step into the role of a hardened survivor driven by revenge, navigating through dense, handcrafted environments. Each level unfolds across neon-lit corridors, cramped apartments, underground clubs, and rooftop hideouts, creating a constant sense of pressure and immersion.
The gameplay is built around speed, precision, and raw tension. Encounters are close-quarters and unforgiving, where quick reflexes and decisive actions determine survival. The game strips away unnecessary elements, focusing purely on movement, reaction time, and execution. Every mistake carries weight, and hesitation often leads to instant failure.
