Viking warriors have a new reason to raise their mugs, as the co-op tavern adventure from Oddiko, Meadgard, has officially launched in Steam Early Access. After attracting more than 60,000 wishlists and making a strong impression during Steam Next Fest, the game is now welcoming players ready to trade swords, hunt monsters, and keep a very demanding tavern running.
In Meadgard, players receive a special assignment from Odin himself: keep the locals fed and watered so Valhalla’s legendary banquets can go ahead. Unfortunately, things aren’t looking too good. Supplies are running low, hungry warriors are getting impatient, and someone has to venture out to find the ingredients.
That’s where the chaos begins. Players team up to fight their way through hordes of mythological creatures, collect valuable ingredients, and race back to the tavern before it’s too late. Once back, the real challenge begins as everyone takes on different responsibilities, whether serving customers, preparing meals, or keeping the increasingly chaotic kitchen under control.
Things can get even more unpredictable when Odin’s divine relatives decide to stop by. Keeping these godly guests happy requires a little extra care, especially if players want to avoid turning their tavern into a disaster zone.
The Early Access launch also gives players a bigger role in shaping the game’s future. Feedback gathered from previous playtests and the demo has already helped the developers at Oddiko refine the experience, and the team promises to continue working closely with the community throughout development.
With frantic co-op action, Norse mythology, and plenty of tavern chaos, Meadgard looks like a fun excuse to gather your friends and get cooking. It’s available now on Steam Early Access.
