Hearthstone: Forged in The Barrens Confirmed During BlizzConline
During BlizzConline 2021, Blizzard Entertainment officially confirmed a new expansion coming to Hearthstone known as Forged in The Barrens. Anyone who’s played as a Horde character in World of Warcraft knows why The Barrens is infamous, but the Hearthstone community is finally getting its hands on a deck based around the expansive area between Durotar and the Stonetalon Mountains. Hearthstone is available for free right now on PC, Mac, and Mobile, while Forged in the Barrens pre-orders are live now.
“Welcome to The Barrens, adventurer,” said Blizzard Entertainment. “The land where blistered terrain and battering sun form the anvil and hammer that shape the unbreakable Horde. Where Kalimdor’s most promising denizens test magic and muscle against furious centaur, soaring harpies, and bristling quillboar. Here is the proving ground for warriors who would become legends… those who have been Forged in The Barrens!”
Just like any other Hearthstone expansion, Forged in The Barrens brings with it tons of new cards that change up the meta of the game, with Frenzy being the shiny new effect that minions share across the new expansion. Frenzy triggers an effect the first time a minion survives damage, but it can backfire on the player as well.
“The dangerous conditions of The Barrens can turn even the docile plainstrider into a deadly whirlwind of talon and feather. Minions with the Frenzy keyword will trigger powerful effects the first time they survive damage.”
