No, Banjo-Kazooie Isn’t Coming to Wii U With Blast Corps.

Blast Corps. and Banjo-Kazooie Briefly Listed on Wii U

Nintendo recently officially listed Banjo-Kazooie and Blast Corps. for scheduled release on the Wii U virtual console, but quickly removed them and apologized for the error. The game was listed and set to release today, December 30th, though Nintendo was quick to notice the mistake and reversed it. Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts are all playable through Rare Replay which is available right now for Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and Xbox Series X/S through backward compatibility.

Banjo-Kazooie was listed in the Wii U virtual console schedule section as Banjo & Kazooie’s Great Adventure, which was apparently the name of the original N64 Banjo-Kazooie game in Japan. The schedule for Banjo-Kazooie and Blast Corps. release on the Wii U virtual console was changed by Nintendo within hours, and the Big N has since apologized for the mistake, but that hasn’t stopped fans of both Rare franchises from speculating what this means about the future of these titles on Nintendo platforms.

Since Banjo-Kazooie was added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, fans of the 3D platformer have been clambering for a new release on the Nintendo Switch, but this Wii U schedule listing really perplexed even the most die-hard Nintendo fans. Nintendo has officially stated on December 30th that it has no plans to release Banjo-Kazooie on the Wii U Virtual console, but many fans are still speculating about a Nintendo Switch release. While we aren’t sure what to think about this random Wii U listing, it would be nice to see more Banjo-Kazooie on Nintendo’s hybrid platform.
