Private Division Has Signed Ori and the Blind Forest Studio
Take-Two’s Private Division label recently signed an agreement to publish new titles from three indies studios. These three studios include Ori and the Blind Forest team Moon Studios, as well as Roll7 and League of Geeks. League of Geeks is only known for the digital board game Armello, but they’re currently working on a new IP with Private Division. Roll7 is the development studio behind the OlliOlli series, Not a Hero and Laser League, and is working with Private Division on the studio’s next title. Private Division is the publisher behind The Outer Worlds which recently released for the Nintendo Switch and is also available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and it’s part of the extensive Xbox Game Pass lineup.
While all of these indie studios are likely great acquisitions for Private Division but securing Moon Studios is definitely a good choice for the publisher. These publishing deals with Take-Two’s Private Division label that the three studios have signed will likely keep them with the publisher for a few years, hopefully leading to several successful titles. Moon Studios was founded by Thomas Mahler and Gennadiy Korol in 2010 and they’re apparently at work on a new action RPG title under Private Division’s publishing label. Roll7 is apparently working on their next “flow state game” under Private Division publishing, but very little is known about League of Geeks‘ next title beyond the fact that it’s a new IP. We expect to hear more from Private Division about what these indie studios have cooking up in the near future after signing them up.
