Blake Rochkind, the Private Division’s head of business development added the following in his official X post: “Having a demo for @PennysBigBreak was a big hobby horse of mine. This is a game where playing is believing, and we wanted to make sure as many people could get hands on as possible. This is @PrivateDivision’s first ever bespoke demo! Big thanks to our partners @EveningStarStdo.”

Penny’s Big Breakaway faced some bugs at its initial launch on the Switch and also capped at 30 frames per second. Fortunately, the developer released an update at the end of last month. It added a new “performance mode”, running at “60fps” in most of the game when docked.

The game is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. If you are into 3D platformers with retro vibe, you should give it a shot. You can even check out our review of the game right here.
