Hela: of Mice & Magic Releases New Demo Ahead of Its Release in December

Enter the Magical World of Hela: of Mice & Magic

A magical woodland adventure awaits! Knights Peak and Windup Games have released a new gameplay demo for Hela: of Mice & Magic, giving players a chance to explore its charming world, solve puzzles, and put their magical abilities to the test. The demo is available for a limited time on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Xbox PC app, with full Steam Deck support.

Inspired by the landscapes of northern Sweden, the demo introduces players to a dedicated map full of environmental puzzles, hidden secrets, and playful interactions. Players take control of a nimble little mouse on a mission to restore a kind witch’s protective magic. They will also need to collect enough Glimmer to find their way home.

Exploration plays a major role, with a magic-infused Froggy backpack helping players reach new areas. It will also help them manipulate objects and overcome tricky obstacles. Along the way, they can also lend a helping paw to creatures scattered throughout the environment.

Players can venture out alone or team up with a friend through local split-screen co-op. Solo players also have access to the Shade System, which lets them summon magical duplicates of their mouse to tackle puzzles and challenges that demand a little extra help.

Hela: of Mice & Magic launches on December 1, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will also join Xbox Game Pass on day one, while a limited physical Harmony Edition will be available for selected consoles.

With its cosy atmosphere, creative puzzles, and adorable mouse protagonist, this could be a welcome change of pace for players looking for a relaxing fantasy adventure. The new demo offers a chance to see whether this little mouse can deliver a big adventure before launch.
