Godfall Hacks and Slashes Onto the PS5
During the recent PS5 games showcase Counterplay Games joined several other developers to announce their next-gen title, Godfall. Their latest trailer for Godfall focused on hack and slash melee combat and general gameplay while illustrating what fans can expect with overlaying text. The trailer shows off the world of Aperion, weapon classes, a selection of Valorplates and more as it transitions from one fight to another. Godfall will be releasing for both the PS5 and the PC during this Holiday season, joining the PS5 launch lineup.
Gamers play as one of the last of the Valorian Knights and utilize Valorplates to stop a disaster from taking place. There are several weapon classes for Godfall fans to choose between to create their ideal knight. There are several realms based on the elements for gamers to explore in Godfall, culminating in an epic battle with Macros, the mad-god. While this title isn’t the latest in the White Knight Chronicles, some of the weapons and armor in Godfall seem inspired by the PS3 exclusive.
Like the best RPG’s, gamers will level up their knights in Godfall, selecting their optimal skills to make combat a little easier. Valorplates earned by playing the game can be used to further improve your knight as you move from realm to realm. Counterplay Games CEO Katie Lee claims that more of Godfall will be showed off in the coming weeks, but the gameplay trailer unveiled during the PS5 games showcase gives us an idea of what to expect from the hack and slash RPG.
“In Godfall, Aperion is on the precipice of ruin. You are the last of the Valorian knights, god-like warriors able to equip Valorplates, legendary armor sets that transform wielders into unstoppable masters of melee combat,” said Katie Lee. “Players will tear through foes as they climb through some of the elemental realms and challenge the mad-god Macros who awaits you at the top.”
