Scarlet Nexus Unveiled During Inside Xbox Coming to PlayStation
Bandai Namco joined a plethora of other developers on the recent Inside Xbox Series X games showcase to show off their next-gen title, Scarlet Nexus. The brand new Bandai Namco IP is an action RPG that takes place in a future where humanity discovered psychic powers to fight mutants. The team working on the title includes developers who worked on Tales of Vesperia and it similarly offers an anime theme with the intense combat. Scarlet Nexus will release for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and PC, though no date has been revealed as of now.
Bandai Namco is focusing on a fixed protagonist with Scarlet Nexus who uses his psychic powers to fight and enact combos on vicious mutants. While they have revealed that developers who worked on Tales of Vesperia are on board to develop Scarlet Nexus, no names have been unveiled as of yet. The anime stylings mixed with the action RPG combat reminds us of Astral Chain and we hope to see some of the best aspects of PlatinumGames’ title implemented into the next-gen Bandai Namco title. The combat looks exhilarating but the trailer lacked much insight into the story of Scarlet Nexus.
The city of Bandai Namco’s Scarlet Nexus looks huge and is booming with life but all of that could be in jeopardy with all of the mutants invading the city. The mutants mostly look like a poison ivy abominations, with many of them being faceless and covered in vegetation. The trailer is narrated from the perspective on the protagonist but because it’s all in Japanese, it’s possible the game will initially release in Japan, with an English localization releasing later.
