EA Has Another Star Wars Game in Mind for 2022
Despite Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order being an upcoming November release for EA and Respawn, EA CEO Andrew Wilson recently confirmed that more Star Wars games are coming during the company’s recent quarterly investors call. He confirmed that EA is working with Disney to get another Star Wars project ready for 2022 while saying that the company is still highly engaged with the Disney license. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releases on November 15th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
“There’s some other Disney stuff that might drop into; Star Wars stuff that might drop into 2022 or maybe even earlier,” said Andrew Wilson. “but with more to come on that. We’re still highly engaged around the Disney license.” Apparently EA will “get the benefit of the ongoing plans around the continued development and provision of great content experiences for Star Wars fans for many years to come.” So it sounds like Star Wars fans have a lot of content to look forward to with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releasing soon and another title dropping in 2022.
Because the untitled EA Star Wars title is releasing in financial year 2022, it’s likely the games will release on next generation consoles such as the Xbox Scarlett or the PS5 and it may even be cross generational with this gen. Apparently EA Vancouver had an open world Star Wars title that was cancelled in favor of a smaller scale project. We aren’t sure what kind of small scale project they’re working on but it’s a bit of a shock they haven’t delved into battle royale territory with the Battlefront franchise at this point.
What kind of Star Wars game would you like to see release in 2022? Are you looking for a completely new idea sort of like Jedi: Fallen Order or do you want a sequel to a series that’s already established? Let us know in the comments below!
