Ubisoft Toronto Getting More Time to Perfect Watch Dogs: Legion
While Watch Dogs: Legion still has an expected 2020 release, it was met with a recent delay as Ubisoft is delaying multiple upcoming projects. Developers at Ubisoft Toronto stated on Twitter that they will be using the additional time to deliver the best possible Watch Dogs experience for the current generation of hardware. Watch Dogs: Legion is releasing on Xbox One, PS4 and PC but will also be enhanced for the next-generation of consoles.
“Our ambition with Watch Dogs: Legion is to deliver and unforgettable experience that changes the way you play and think about open world games,” said the Ubisoft Toronto Twitter post. “With our Play as Anyone feature, every character in our world has a persistent life and anyone from the entire population of London can be recruited into your DedSec team to become the hero of your game and the star of your personal story.” We aren’t glad Watch Dogs: Legion is being delayed but the storytelling potential of recruiting anyone to your side what keeps us waiting eagerly.
Apparently the team will expand on the systems currently being implemented, fixing any bugs they come across and port it to next-generation consoles during the delay period. “We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to deliver this ambitious vision at the best possible level of quality and bring our near-future London to life in the way it deserves. We are confident this will ensure Watch Dogs: Legion is the immersive, innovative experience we set out to create, and the one you aspire to play. We look forward to sharing more with you very soon.”
