Call of Duty: Modern Warfare File Size is 175GB
Activision recently revealed the file size required for the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: a staggering 175GB. Apparently, Activision has included the upcoming planned DLC in that 175GB figure and the launch size will be a little smaller as a result, an image found on Reddit and ResetEra suggests the launch file size will be 61.78GB. The company recommends a total of 175GB free space on the HDD for the game so it can continue to update as Infinity Ward adds more free content to the game over time. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on October 25th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Activision also revealed the PC specs of Modern Warfare, showing us that the minimum PC requirements are: Win 7 SP1 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM, an Intel core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670/GeForce GTX 1650 GPU which all culminate to create a 1080p 30 FPS experience. To be what Activision considers “competitive,” your setup will have to be equal to or better than: Win 10 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, Intel i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 1800X CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or an RTX 2070 SUPER GPU which combine to create a 1080p resolution with a whopping 144 FPS.
With the end file size being more than double the expected launch download size, it’s likely Infinity Ward wasn’t kidding about Modern Warfare having the largest DLC pipeline in franchise history. After the beta broke records across the applicable platforms, it will likely be one of the most successful Call of Duty titles too. Because of the Spec Ops mode being limited to other platforms, all DLC maps, guns, etc. will be available across all of the devices on the same day.
