Earthfall – PC, PS4, X1 – July 13
Earthfall is a four-player cooperative shooter, where players aim to survive an alien invasion. While the game’s inspirations may appear to be quite clear, who doesn’t love finding three friends and taking on hordes of enemies? With its large variety of weapons, enemies, and alien spawn points, Earthfall is sure to have lots of replay value. Available at a fair price point, Earthfall could be that next sleeper hit that garners a large community, but only time will tell. In our preview, we found that Earthfall has “decent visuals, solid level design and lots of cool alien enemies.”

Octopath Traveler – NS – July 13
Undoubtedly the biggest game of July 2018, Octopath Traveler is the upcoming JRPG developed by Square Enix for the Nintendo Switch. While its name leaves a bit to be desired, Octopath Traveler turned heads with its art-style when it was first shown. With an “HD-2D” style that can be described as 16-bit character sprites with high definition effects and environments, it is likely easier to watch some footage than read about it. The game also features eight characters to start the game with, each having their own unique commands to utilize. The game’s turn-based battle system also brings about a nostalgic charm, and we cannot wait until July 13, 2018.
