Top 5 Upcoming Video Games February 2026

3. Virtual Boy – February 17

Our third entry on the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games February 2026 isn’t exactly a game. Nintendo is adding the Virtual Boy library to its Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. Anyone subscribed will automatically get Virtual Boy access, but they will need a peripheral to play the games. All Virtual Boy games have red and black visuals in faux 3D. A Switch 2 needs to be physically loaded into a headset. Although the replica headset costs $100, there is a budget cardboard version for $20. The service will have some Japanese games never released in the West, as well as hard to find classics like Virtual Boy Wario Land and Jack Bros.

2. Nioh 3 – February 6

Nioh is the latest third person action game from Team Ninja. It’s a story sequel to both Nioh games, with a new protagonist. It will feature two fighting styles. One will keep combat similar to the other two games, and the other is faster and more evasion-based. This latest entry also promises to be more open and less linear than the previous two games. Nioh will be available for PS5 and PC. In another month, it could’ve been the top game on a list like the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games February 2026. But…

1. Resident Evil: Requiem – February 27

Nothing was going to top the massive release that is Resident Evil: Requiem. Despite not having a number in the title, Resident Evil: Requiem is the 9th mainline Resident Evil game. Its new protagonist will have gameplay similar to Biohazard and Village. There are also sections with Leon Kennedy as a protagonist, which will feature more action-heavy gameplay, based on Resident Evil 4. This massive Capcom release will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC. Resident Evil: Requiem is the obvious #1 game on the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games February 2026.
