The Three Best and Worst Video Games From July 2021

The Worst

Crash Drive 3

*** Read our review here ***

Arcade racers are usually a good time, but Crash Drive 3 fails to meet that mark. An open world arcade racer set in a toy universe seems to be a match made in heaven. Unfortunately, we determined that “the slippy driving mechanics, repetitive missions, and bland visuals make this an uninspiring release.”

Curved Space

Curved Space is another title that unfortunately falls into our list of the worst games of the month. A twin-stick shooter that experiments with gravity and orientation, Curved Space falls short due to its poor control and a lack of a good arcade mode. One of the main points in our review is that “there isn’t a mode where you can jump in to play where you get to experience the whole thing.”

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound and Debriefed

With another Akiba’s Trip release, Akiba’s Trip: Hellhound and Debriefed gives us a similar game, but with vampires. The game was easily hurt by its poor graphics, creepy jokes, and generally bad controls. In our review, we noted that “some games are broken or bad in a kind of fun way, but Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed isn’t broken, it’s just bad and decidedly, aggressively not fun at all.”
