Top 5 Upcoming Video Games July 2026
Unfortunately July 2026 is another slower month for video game releases. There are a lot of really interesting non-triple-A games coming out, but the year now feels like publishers are waiting for Fall. We have two runners-up this month. One is Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, a remake of franchise favorite pirate-themed Assassin’s Creed IV. The other is Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, a 2D fighting game based on the Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon. Without further ado, here are the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games July 2026:
5. Rhythm Heaven Groove – July 2
Rhythm Heaven Groove is the fifth game in the Rhythm Heaven rhythm game series. There hasn’t been a franchise entry since 2015’s Rhythm Heaven Megamix for the 3DS. The series blends rhythm game gameplay with the minigame format of the WarioWare games. There were a lot of games that could have occupies the 5th spot in the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games July 2026, but we gave it to Rhythm Heave groove because franchise fans have had an 11 year wait.
4. Echoes of Aincrad – July 10
Echoes of Aincrad is an action JRPG set in the Sword Art Online light novel/ anime Isekai universe. The gameplay looks heavily inspired by MMORPG systems. Early previews have not been kind to Echoes of Aincrad, but there are a lot of Sword Art Online fans out there. Because Bandai Namco is throwing its entire marketing machine behind the game, Echoes of Aincrad has to get a spot on the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games July 2026.
3. EA Sports College Football 27 – July 9
EA Sports has two football games every year now. In a lot of ways, the College Football games are even better than the mainline NFL Madden ones. EA Sports College Football 27 is this year’s series entry. It doesn’t sound like there are going to be any major changes from the last two games, but hopefully there will be a ton of polish. Despite their massive sales, yearly sports entries have to evolve their franchises in order to grab top spots on COGconnected’s lists like the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games July 2026.
2. Splatoon Raiders – July 23
Splatoon Raiders is the fourth game in Nintendo’s third person shooter series. They’re mainly loved as multiplayer games. Raiders is actually a spin-off that focuses on a single player experience, more than the series’ beloved multiplayer. There will still be online and local 4 player co-op though. Splatoon Raiders was a strong contender for the #1 spot on the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games July 2026, but it got overtaken by a game given a release date in June…
1. Halo: Campaign Evolved – July 28
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Halo video game. It will be the first time the franchise is playable on PlayStation consoles, and that is massive cause for celebration. Over the years, lots of PlayStation loyal players considered getting an Xbox to try Halo, but didn’t take the plunge due to lack of software breadth on Microsoft consoles. Halo: Campaign Evolved is an important milestone, and an obvious #1.
