Try Esoteric Ebb Out
Christoffer Bodegård and Sudden Snail have launched a demo version of their upcoming title Esoteric Ebb for PC via Steam. It is a single-player tabletop RPG with endless freedom inspired by classics like Planescape Torment and Baldur’s Gate.
Esoteric Ebb takes place in the city of Norvik which is holding its first-ever election. In the meantime, someone blew up a tea shop. You will step inside the shoes of the Cleric, a failed Palace bureaucrat and an expert in esoteric events. You arrive at the heart of the city to investigate what happened and to unravel the political chaos.
Explore the streets and tunnels of the fantasy realm with your goblin companion Snell. Interrogate different fantastical creatures in a world where mythological creatures sell newspapers at corner shops. The game features colorfully weird characters that you must interact with through branching dialogs.
Here are some key features:
– Open-ended quests: Solve mysteries in any way you want by exploring the streets, towers, and dark tunnels of Norvik.
– Wild spellcasting: The cleric collects and wields reality-shaping magic. Mind control those who stand against you, or heal their wounds.
– Turn-based encounters: Clerics in Norvik are taught to use violence as a last resort. When the need does arise, a roll of the dice determines life or death
– Be a rogue cleric: Morality is flexible, especially when you need to fulfill your duty. Bribe or blackmail, sneak or steal.
-Cleric customization: Inspired by the 5E ruleset, this adventure stretches from 1st to 6th level. Mold your cleric to suit your playstyle.
– Dress for the job: Customize the look and abilities of your cleric as you choose how to engage in the many tense encounters in Norvik.
– The Questing Tree: A quest journal, skill tree, and mind map all at once.
