Shovel Knight Dig Will Be Out in a Few Weeks
Shovel Knight Dig is coming to the gaming world in a few weeks. Yacht Club Games made the official announcement and told fans that the 2D semi-roguelike is due for launch on September 23rd. The announcement came with a trailer that showed some of the devs playing dress-up. There was also some footage from a title that they have apparently been working on for quite some time now.
Shovel Knight Dig is going to take players deep underground in their pursuit of Drill Knight. Fans of the game know that the latter was responsible for blowing up Shovel Knight’s camp site and stealing all of his belongings. However, players will eventually find out that “this adventure goes much deeper than a simple heist.”
The franchise is already quite known for having “thousands of pixel perfect level chunks which are procedurally stitched together to create infinite adventurous combinations.” However, it would seem that Shovel Knight Dig is promising an even bigger technological leap forward.
According to devs, the game will feature “glorious high color pixel graphics and sound” that will improve in-game animation. It will also reportedly have proprietary level generation tech that will enable “infinite replayability.”
It has come to light that things in the game will be different every time Shovel Knight Dig players hit things with their shovels. Unfortunately, it remains unclear what these differences are going to be. Having a Spelunky-like balance of surprise and challenge is not a mean feat. However, given the quality of the games that are part of the franchise, it is understandable why fans can be so optimistic.
Shovel Knight Dig has no Steam listing just yet. It is safe to say that there will be one soon. After all, it is due to release only a few weeks away. Once it appears, fans can avail of a 10% launch discount.
