Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 Is Coming to PC & Switch Late This Year

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 is going to be developed by Black Isle Studios. The studio has already confirmed that the sequel will be making its way to PC and Switch consoles this year.

“It is coming sooner than you think,” devs wrote on social media. “Are you ready?”

The original game first became available to the gaming community on PS2 and Xbox back in 2004. It allows players to choose from five characters, specifically a drow monk, a human cleric, a human barbarian, an elf necromancer, and a dwarf rogue. There will also be two secret bonus characters that players can unlock.

The first game was an action RPG that came to PC late last year. It was developed by Snowblind Studios. Black Isle Studios will be using the same engine used in the first.

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 will have more NPCs and more interactions. Although the gaming public did not really consider the game as a masterpiece, completists can finally get to play it on their PC platforms. Presumably, the game’s Steam version will support Remote Play Together just like the previous installment.

It has also been reported that Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance will also be playable on Nintendo Switch consoles. After all, the first entry in the franchise ended up on the Switch last year. Its sequel will now finally follow later this year. This will mark the first time that the sequel has ever appeared on a Nintendo platform.

Devs did not say anything further about the new re-release. Fortunately for fans, they have a teaser that they can keep watching until the devs finally launch the game.

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 is is no way related to 2021’s Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. This co-op game got some relatively mixed reactions.
