Microsoft Won’t Have a PlayStation Level Pre-Order Fiasco
Microsoft has fired back at PlayStation by letting gamers know exactly when they can pre-order an Xbox Series X or Series S. Preorders will be going live for the next-gen Xbox consoles on September 22nd, but the time will depend on your area, ensuring Microsoft doesn’t have the same issues that PlayStation did recently. UK fans will be happy to know that the Xbox Series X and Series S preorders will be going live on the same day as everyone else. Xbox Series X and Series S both release on November 10th at $499 and $299 respectively, with the Game Pass lineup joining the consoles day one.
Xbox fans in the United States will be the first to get their hands on a pre-order on the Xbox Series X or Series S, gaining access to the pre-orders at 8 a.m. PST. Gamers in the US will apparently be able to pre-order one of the two Xbox consoles through GameStop, Microsoft Store, Walmart, and Best Buy. Australian Microsoft fans can pre-order their Series console at 8 a.m. AEST through Telstra, while New Zealand gamers can pre-order at 8 a.m. NZST through Spark.
UK Xbox fans will be able to pre-order their Xbox Series X or Series S at 8 a.m. BST through GAME and Smyths Toys. Fans in Denmark, Norway, Findland, and Sweden will have to wait until 9 a.m. in their respective time zones. Pre-orders will be available at Elgiganten in Denmark and Sweden, Gigantti in Finland, and Elkjøp in Norway (my personal favorite). Microsoft has also said that Xbox All-Access won’t be available in Canada, Poland, France, and South Korea on September 22nd, but will be available as an option to consumers there before the launch of the upcoming consoles.
