Foreign Sun Is Rising Soon
Final Scene Dev has released a new trailer announcing the launch date and platforms for its upcoming 2D choice-driven action RPG Foreign Sun, previously known as The Meridian Gate. The game will arrive on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on April 21. Players can already pre-order the Switch version, which currently comes with a 10% discount.
The project originally began as a Nintendo Switch port of the 2020 action RPG Biomass. As development progressed, the team expanded the idea into a completely new experience. Foreign Sun now features redrawn artwork, updated design elements, and a broader focus on player choice and consequences. The game aims to build on the elements that fans enjoyed in Biomass while also welcoming newcomers exploring this world for the first time.
Players who already own Biomass on Steam will receive Foreign Sun for free when it launches. Final Scene Dev plans to share more details about the upgrade process in the weeks leading up to release.
Foreign Sun places players in a dangerous world filled with mysteries surrounding the Eternal Lighthouse. The game features advanced sword-fighting mechanics that allow players to break enemy posture, unlock hidden combat techniques, and gain unusual powers from a mysterious entity.
The adventure unfolds across an interconnected world where several factions pursue their own goals. Players can navigate the sinking city in different ways, forming alliances or shifting loyalties depending on their choices. Throughout the journey, they will face a wide range of enemies and discover powerful abilities. Some of these forbidden powers can change the way players move through the world, though such strength may come with a high cost.
