The Master Chief Collection Is Getting ODST’s Firefight Soon
According to 343 Industries, Halo 3: ODST’s Firefight will be added to the Master Chief Collection soon. They released a teaser trailer for the upcoming addition to the Master Chief Collection through the official Halo Twitter account, but the footage is still labeled as Xbox 360 footage. Halo 3: ODST isn’t the only title in the series to include Firefight but 343 Industries is bringing all of the previous Halo content to the Master Chief Collection over time. Halo Master Chief Collection is available for the Xbox One and PC, with Halo Infinite coming later this year for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
The addition of Halo 3: ODST’s Firefight mode means that the Master Chief Collection will have the complete versions of Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach and Halo 4 on Xbox One. The PC version only has Halo, Halo 2 and Halo: Reach so far, with Halo 3 coming soon. While we aren’t sure when PC fans can get their hands on Halo 3: ODST Firefight, it’s nice to see more content coming to the Xbox One version of the game.
The teaser video recently shared on the official Halo Twitter account mentions the post-launch additions of Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach to the Master Chief Collection and the collection making its way to PC. 343 Industries’ commitment to improving the Master Chief Collection over time is commendable, with the PC community in particular being reinvigorated by the support. Firefight is a wave-based survival mode where up to four players work together to survive the onslaught of the Covenant and it was originally introduced with Halo 3: ODST. Since then, Firefight has been added to Halo Reach and Halo 5: Guardians’ Warzone mode.
