Call of Duty: Warzone Fans Can Play Modern Warfare Multiplayer This Weekend
Fans of the Call of Duty battle royale, Warzone, can access two of the multiplayer maps for free this weekend according to the official Twitter account for the game. The two maps that will be playable for free are Atlas Superstore and Shoothouse which are two new maps brought to the series with Modern Warfare. These maps will be free to play for everyone who has Warzone downloaded from now until April 6th. Gamers can purchase the full Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer experience for PS4, Xbox One and PC now.
To celebrate another double XP weekend, Activision and Infinity Ward are switching things up by releasing two multiplayer maps to all Call of Duty fans that enjoy Warzone. They took to the Call of Duty Twitter account to announce, “#FreeCallofDuty continues. Starting tomorrow, get free access to Multiplayer through #Warzone all weekend long.” While this announcement left out the caveat that only two maps will be playable, gamers can play different modes on the maps to change up their experience with them.
Fans who might not have jumped on board the latest Call of Duty installment when it released but have been entertained by Warzone might want to give the multiplayer a try this weekend. Normally this comes off as an initiative to bring in new fans but Warzone already brought fans in and this is a great way to see if those new fans will be interested in the multiplayer mode or not. While the campaign for Modern Warfare won’t be free to play this weekend, PS4 fans can purchase the remastered Modern Warfare 2 campaign to see one of the best stories the Call of Duty franchise has to offer.
