$2 Million Stretch Goal for The Wonderful 101 Kickstarter was Reached
The Wonderful 101: Remastered Kickstarter has officially surpassed their $2 million stretch goal. Reaching this goal means a brand new mission to the game known as Luka’s Second Mission. The addition of a new mission to the game will give fans of the Wii U original another reason to buy it on the Switch, while giving new fans across multiple platforms something more to enjoy. The Wonderful 101: Remastered will be releasing for PC, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch on May 19th, but there’s no word on an Xbox One release as of now.
As of right now, Kickstarter pledges for The Wonderful 101: Remastered have reached $2.3 million, with orchestral recordings being the next item on the stretch goal list. The new recordings will feature a live orchestra playing “The Won-Stoppable Wonderful 100” and “Tables Turn.” Once the game reaches $2.5 million, it will have reached the last Kickstarter stretch goal which will expand how many languages the game features. Considering how quickly this particular Kickstarter is blasting through the stretch goals, we anticipate that all of them will be achieved.
Luka’s Second Mission will presumably follow the story set up by Luka’s First Mission, which was a stretch goal achieved when the Kickstarter reached $1.5 million. The first one is a 2D side scrolling adventure that starts Luka and the gameplay will likely be identical in the second mission. With 77% of the stretch goals being met, we’re glad to see how enthusiastic the gaming community and Kickstarter community are to see the Wii U title revisited on current-gen hardware.
