The Skull Mystery of Black Ops 3 Has Reached an Underwhelming Conclusion
Since the release of the Revelations zombies map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the community has tried to solve the mystery of a mysteriously placed skull with a red eye. The mystery of the skull has been solved by a YouTuber known as Glitching Queen, who claims that the skull is no more than a Terminator reference. Glitching Queen apparently has a source from Treyarch who has confirmed the Skull mystery as a Terminator Easter egg. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available now for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Despite many skulls in the Call of Duty zombies games have been part of the gameplay and in many cases, interactive, this Terminator skull has always eluded Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 zombies fans. As the community is no stranger to Easter eggs, they’ve been disecting the possibilities of this red-eyed skull, but according to Glitching Queen, there’s nothing to really understand. The item was apparently never meant to be interacted with and it’s a simple reference to the infamous Terminator franchise of films.
The zombies map that features the red-eyed skull is known as Revelations and it was released as DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 way back in 2016. Since then, the zombies community has been scratching their heads to figure out how to get their in-game hands on the skull but that day will never come. Many of the Easter eggs included in Call of Duty titles are puzzles but this one doesn’t take much effort to solve and involves no moving parts. The item inside the eye socket of the skull is simply a bottle with a red cap and nothing more.
