Ring in the Holidays With a Gigantamax Delibird in Pokemon Sword & Shield
Pokemon Sword & Shield are ringing in the holiday season with a new Max Raid battle featuring Pokemon’s unofficial holiday mascot Delibird. This Pokemon is an Ice/Flying type that has a unique attack called “Present,” which has unpredictable results ranging from inflicting major damage to even healing the target instead, proving you never know what to expect from a present. Players can encounter Delibird in the Wild Area and can appear in any Dynamax den so the hunt for a Gigantamax Delibird has officially begun. Pokemon Sword and Shield are exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and are available now.
Delibird raids will have five levels of difficulty, ranging from the easy one Star raid battles to more difficult five Star raids which may require backup. The event will last until December 25th when the Christmas Pokemon goes back into hiding until next year. Although Delibird is a fun event Pokemon, it doesn’t fare too well in competitive play and is best used in PvE situations, though many gamers may just catch one to say they have it and leave it in a box until the next generation of Pokemon releases. Due to the random nature of the Den’s, gamers may have to search long and hard for a Gigantamax Delibird, or they could always cheat the system and mess with the Switch’s time and date settings while using a wishing piece. Pokemon Sword & Shield have been selling extremely well despite the national-dex controversy, with Japan in particular constantly seeing Pokemon in the Famitsu top ten for software sales. In total, the titles have sold over six million units during their launch week alone.
