Wayforward’s River City Girls 2 Latest Trailer Shows Off The Villains

WayForward is an indie video game developer that has worked on a ton of titles in the past. Some of their games include Spidersaurs, Dawn of the Monsters and Marble Knights. Wayforward alongside ArcSystemWorks have are set to release River City Girls 2 later this year. Today, the developers have released a cool, new trailer for the game showing off its villains. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox platforms.

In the trailer, viewers get a first look at the game’s comic book art style and storytelling methods. Furthermore, as expected, the trailer allows fans to see some of their potential enemies are they progress through the game. Ken, the rich Yakuza, Sabu, the criminal patriarch and Sabuko, a disgraced daughter, are some of the villains players would meet in the game.

In the game, players will hop into an action, 2D beat ’em up experience with a new combat system allowing for various combos and aerial attacks. Besides the new combat system, the game features playable characters from its predecessor along with new characters

Unfortunately, WayForward announced a delay to the game’s official release date in mid August. Via its official Twitter, the developers stated, “River City Girls 2 will be launching in North America sometime after its originally expected late summer 2022 release window. Please stay tuned for a new release date. For now, please check out the cover art!”
