This War of Mine: Final Cut Coming to Next-Gen Consoles May 10th

A Harsh Reality

War is Hell. Some games aim to capture this sentiment more than others. Today developer 11 Bit Studios announced that their bestselling antiwar game, This War of Mine: Final Cut, is releasing on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 on May 10th. A press release about the Final Cut provides details about the new features of the final cut. Additionally, the release also gives fans some insight from 11 Bit’s CEO about the importance of the game.

This War of Mine is not your typical war game. It places players in shoes of civilians in a city under siege. This War of Mine: Final cut contains all of the content from the original game. Additionally, it also includes the content from This War of Mine: Stories. The Final Cut also includes updated, 4K, graphics and updated UI. Of course, the graphical updates serve to help the raw aesthetics of the game hit even harder.

“We believe it’s especially important to educate people on the realities of war right now, while its horrifying reality has become a daily struggle for people that are close to us.” Says 11 bit studios CEO, Przemek Marszal, in the press release. “We’re proud that recent This War of Mine fundraising helped us create a wave of spontaneous help for war victims in Ukraine, and we hope we can further spread our antiwar message with This War of Mine: Final Cut.”

Of course, 11 Bit Studios has recently held a fundraiser in which they donated over $800,000 to the Ukraine. The fundraiser used the sales from previous editions of This War of Mine to raise money for the Ukrainian Red Cross Foundation. Now, 11 Bit appears to want to continue their anti-war message on the next-gen consoles.

This War of Mine: Final Cut will be available on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 on May 10th, 2022. Additionally, the game will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass.
