Insurgency Sandstorm: Warlord Update Storms Consoles

Console players prepare for an update to intense, tactical, warfare. Insurgency Sandstorm: Warlord, a free update for New World Interactive and  Focus Entertainment’s captivating FPS, comes to consoles today. This is the first major content update to come to consoles for the game and brings with it a list of new content for players. Insurgency Sandstorm’s website provides details about everything included in the update. 

With this update comes a brand new game mode, “Ambush”, that is sure to push the tactical capabilities of players to the limit. Protect the VIP. Or kill them. Either way, players will need to use teamwork and their limited resources to accomplish their mission. Additionally the players will need to escort, or kill, the VIP in the winding streets of the new map that comes in the update. 

The Warlord update introduces a new location to do battle. “Gap”. According to their website the new map is described as making players “race from cover to cover through tight alleyways”  

Equally as important, to some, the Warlord Update also brings cosmetics. Four Warlord styled gear and weapon sets arrived with the update. In addition, the new set bundle, “praetorian”. With the cosmetics come two new weapons as well. 

An update trailer, released for the free update, shows off the contents of the update. Scenes of firefights in alleyways, and the VIP’s surrounded by soldiers, highlight the update. The trailer also shows off the two new weapons in action: the P90 and the Vector. Finally, the trailer also gives a quick lookover of some of the cosmetics.

The free Warlord update is live today on Xbox One and PS4. The Insurgency deluxe and gold editions are also available on consoles and PC. What do you think of the update? Will you be trying the new game mode on the new map?
