What Awaits You In Starsand’s Deserts?
Bearing clear inspiration from legendary Scifi novels & movies, Toplitz Productions and Tunnel Vision are getting ready to gift interested players a ton of information about their upcoming title: Starsand.
Starsand offers a survival experience set in a hostile, otherworldly desert. Players must explore, build a base, and master unknown technologies to conquer this unforgiving wasteland. It’s like an inverse Subnautica – same genre, similar mechanics, but a world different enough to keep Starsand unique.
The game’s Steam store page sets a very clear picture about the game’s tone, but leaves many questions about the games’s content:
“Your day started as planned. Motivated and full of ambition you started the run of your life, in the middle of the desert, surrounded by like-minded people. The months of hard training should finally bear fruit. Suddenly, you were caught in a monstrous sandstorm and now you find yourself alone in an inhospitable, hot environment. Deserted and merciless, an ocean of sand stretches to the horizon.”
“Your first thought: Survival.
Your second thought: Rescue will surely come.
The bitter realization: No one will come, you are completely on your own.
The big question: Where are you and why are there two moons in the night sky?”
The Gamescom reveal trailer has already given us a look into the game’s style and aesthetic, with a bit of gameplay thrown in. The desert is vast, but there’s plenty of sights to see – a more forested area can be seen, as can the ruins of an ancient civilization.
And now, at the 2021 Gamescom trade fair, the game is revealing even more information to entice players into is desolate world. Players can uncover an early access version of the game, on the 4th of November this year. If this sort of experience sounds enticing, that Gamescom event is something to keep an eye on!
