Valheim Continues to Impress in Early Access
Iron Gate’s Valheim officially released in Steam Early Access last month to immediate acclaim, quickly reaching four million units sold, and now it’s officially Steam’s best-selling game of February. Valheim edged out titles such as Persona 5 Strikers, Outriders, and Stardew Valley to obtain the coveted number one position. Considering Valheim has only been available on the platform for one month, it will likely continue to succeed for many more months. Valheim is available exclusively for PC right now.
According to the Steam charts for February, the second best-selling title behind Valheim was the Valve Index VR kit, followed closely by Tale of Immortal and the recently released Persona 5 Strikers. Rounding out the rest of Steam’s top ten best-selling games of February were Outriders, Stardew Valley, Nioh 2: The Complete Edition, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – Operation Broken Fang. While Persona 5 Strikers saw a full release in February, it looks like Steam players are more impressed by Valheim.
Persona 5 Strikers was included twice in Steam’s February sales charts, showing the sales success of both editions of the game. It’s possible that the combined sales between the two P5 Strikers exceeded those of Valheim, but it’s still impressive to see an Early Access title reach the top of the charts in its first month of life. It’s also noteworthy that People Can Fly’s Outriders hasn’t officially released yet, but an extensive demo has brought many more eyes to the game ahead of release.
