The Lazing Device and Heavy Mortar Coming to Fortnite
According to recent Fortnite datamining, fans of Epic Games’ battle royale can expect to see two new weapons join the arsenal soon. One of the new weapons is known as the Lazing Device and it has Base Bolt Sniper stats but has a WID that’s “all over the place.” Heavy Mortar will fittingly use rocket ammo and its description is “Guns Machinegun” which suggests it will rapid-fire explosives. Both of these new weapons are expected to release for the upcoming Galactus event that will close the season. Fortnite is available for free right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC, and Android.
When Fortnitemares shook up Fortnite during Chapter 2 Season 4, the Charge Shotgun was quietly removed from the battle royale, and shortly afterwards the Jetpack was added. Now it looks as though the Lazing Device and Heavy Mortar are joining the Fortnite arsenal soon according to these leaks, suggesting other weapons may be replaced.
“New Weapon in the works: ‘Lazing Device,'” said Fortnite leaker Mang0e on Twitter. “Its WID is all over the place, but I suspect this could be a prototype of the upcoming Cosmos event (and/or Galactus) rifle. It uses Base Bolt Sniper stats, same as the Cosmos ones. The name ‘Lazing’ could also be connected to this.” Considering “Lazing” is a term that’s traditionally given to someone who relaxes a lot, it’ll be interesting to see if this rifle induces laziness in the AI enemies or other players in Fortnite battle royale.
