Listen! Do You Smell That?
A few days ago, after the most recent Fortnite update, dataminers found some interesting things in the files. Now that the Fortnitemares 2020 event is live, Fortnite has announced a Ghostbusters crossover, confirming what these datamining ventures have uncovered. Multiple Ghostbusters bundles were found called Ghostbusters Patrol, Ghostbusters Gear, and Ghostbusters Crew, as well as something called Skull Squad Pack, which appears to be a cosmetic set of skeleton-pattern costumes.
Fortnite and Ghostbusters fans will be able to pick up Ghostbusters cosmetic for play in. There are obviously the iconic jumpsuits that the busters wear, a Proton Pack in place of Back Bling, a Ghost Trap, and an Ecto-1-inspired glider. The pick axe that players can use is also inspired by the Proton Packs. The datamining also identified Ghostbusters-related achievements, so hopefully this implicates a larger, more fleshed out crossover like what we have been seeing with Marvel.

Fortnitemares 2020 is on right now and will be running until November 3rd. That leaves a couple of weeks for players to take advantage of all the spooky, scary activities Epic Games has planned. We are still waiting on more news about what is in store for this Ghostbusters crossover, but hopefully there is more to do other than grab up cool cosmetics. Fortnite is available on PC, mobile platforms, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.
