Pokemon Unite Coming to Mobile and Nintendo Switch

Pokemon Unite Is a New MOBA for Mobile and Nintendo Switch

During a recent Pokemon Presents, the Pokemon Company confirmed a brand new MOBA coming to mobile platforms and the Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Unite. Pokemon Unite brings the successful franchise into the MOBA genre and Tencent’s TiMi Studios are developing the title. While this is a free to play game, it will include micro transactions, potentially throwing a wrench into the strategic elements of the game. Pokemon Unite will be available for iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch soon, though no official release date has been officially announced.

Pokemon Unite MOBA

When last week’s Pokemon Presents happened, fans were delighted to hear about another upcoming, big Pokemon title to be announced in another Pokemon Presents. While expectations got very high, with many speculating another Let’s Go game and others hoping for Diamond and Pearl remakes, but Pokemon Unite is an entirely new idea for the IP. Across several versions of the trailer showed off during the Pokemon Presents, the Pokemon Unite is getting dislike bombed by fans who waited a week for what they saw as a weaker announcement than New Pokemon Snap.

Tencent’s TiMi Studios is developing Pokemon Unite which is a 5 versus 5 MOBA that features a map that’s divided into lanes that will be familiar to fans of League of Legends, Smite and DOTA 2. While many Pokemon fans may be more hyped for New Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Unite is a free to play title that they can give a shot without much risk. While we’re looking forward to other Pokemon games more, being able to try Pokemon Unite for free is a great selling point and it may be the next big MOBA.
