Aaron Greenberg Thinks Inside Xbox Could’ve Been Promoted Better
Many gamers were disappointed by the lack of gameplay during the recent Inside Xbox Series X games showcase and Microsoft GM of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg has taken to Twitter to explain his position. While he regrets how the Inside Xbox was promoted to feature gameplay, him and the rest of the Xbox team will learn from the feedback given by fans. Many of the titles shown off during the event such as DiRT 5, Chorus and Call of the Sea included gameplay segments but apparently that wasn’t enough for eager fans. Xbox Game Pass will be coming to the Xbox Series X, bringing backwards compatible titles to the next-gen platform when it releases in the holiday 2020 window.
Had we not said anything & just shown May Inside Xbox show like we did last month, I suspect reactions might have been different,” said Aaron Greenberg in response to a concerned fan on Twitter. “Clearly we set some wrong expectations & that’s on us. We appreciate all the feedback & can assure you we will take it all in & learn as a team.” While they can’t take back what was unveiled during the recent Inside Xbox event, Greenberg and the team at Xbox have clearly used the feedback to motivate future unveils.
While we were enthusiastic about what was shown off during the recent Inside Xbox Series X games showcase, we can see why fans were expecting to see more gameplay given how the event was promoted. The event showed off several new games and teased the countless developers working on next-gen titles, getting our hopes for next-gen even higher. Xbox also unveiled their ‘optimized for Series X‘ badge during the showcase, which will accompany most of the initial releases on the Xbox Series X, with some also including Smart Delivery.
